The m-1965 field jacket or m-65 is an iconic military jacket introduced for the u.s. Military in 1965. The m-65 field jacket was widely used by united states forces during the vietnam war; it was and is a standard issue to us troops in several other wars all around the globe. Alpha industries produced the original garment for the military and was instrumental in working with the government to improve the performance and design. This was the last revision to the field jacket. It replaced the cotton fabric of earlier jackets with newly developed nylon/cotton sateen fabric that was virtually indestructible and wind resistant. The collar was redesigned to incorporate a hidden hood. Velcro closures were added. Nyco is a 50 percentage nylon/ 50 percentage cotton blend that provides excellent comfort and durability. This military-approved fabric resists fading, shrinking and wrinkling, improving the longevity of the garment in any environment or season. The fit of the jacket is a classic military fit.
