Visit Monsters University, an imaginative world where kids can express their natural curiosity and explore “scary” new skills like logic and deductive reasoning as they follow the fun hijinks of Monsters, Mike and Sulley. LeapFrog Literacy Expert Carolyn says, “Logic and reasoning skills begin to develop at an early age and are used to solve problems and draw conclusions. In this book, we thought that a monster search would be a great way to introduce position words and deductive reasoning.”

Reinforce the Learning
Learning is reinforced through games and activities that revolve around Monsters University campus. To build advanced vocabulary, kids tap on a word with LeapReader—for example, “arachnophobia”, or fear of spiders—and are prompted to search for a picture that demonstrates their understanding of the word’s meaning. In the Scare School Classroom activity, kids are asked to use detective work. For example, the direction “Find a monster with spikes who is in FRONT of someone who has three eyes,” helps them learn about position words and build deductive reasoning in a fun and memorable way. When playing the Scare curriculum, kids can pair a “scary” noun with a “scary” verb to create a personalized scare technique!
