If you are seeking a "tea-ceremony" flavor and quality, together with the full array of health benefits, be careful to avoid cheap and culinary grade matcha powder that won t provide much more than a dull color and a name for what you d be drinking. The difference from ceremonial grade in color, aroma, and taste is drastic.

★ The Matcha tea that we use is only of Japanese premium quality and ceremonial grade and was grown in regions of Japan not affected by radiation.

★ For those not aware of what "CEREMONIAL" means, matcha tea powder comes in different grades, and a higher grade will yield better flavor and more nutritional benefits. Ceremonial matcha tea is made of the most delicate and youngest tea leaves that are hand-picked from the top of the tea tree. These specialty leaves make for an extraordinary quality matcha powder, packed full of amino acids, antioxidants, chlorophyll, and L-Theanine, and also produce a unique natural sweetness with subtle vegetal flavor. As you move down the tea plant, the leaves become less flavorful and more astringent. While some of these tea leaves near the top of the plant are still considered "ceremonial" grade, the flavor is significantly different and harsher, thus much cheaper in price.
