Made of San Mai VG10 steel with an attractive satin finish, this premium Japanese steel is specially designed for high-quality blades used in cutlery and known for its durability and maintaining a hardness of Rc 60 without becoming brittle. The 3.5-inch straight edge, folding blade has a tanto shape with a very strong tip that s ideal for piercing, sharpens easily and makes quick work of any task. The blade of this limited knife provides lightning-quick, one-handed opening and closing capability thanks to the special Arc-Lock for ambidexterity. The ergonomically contoured and well-balanced handle has a black finish and is made of a high strength, no-slip, abrasion and impact resistant glass-reinforced nylon to fit comfortably in your hand. A reversible pocket clip extends from the back of the handle, allowing the Vulcan to sit low in your pocket for the most discreet carry possible. This pocket clip can also double as a money clip. A Blade with the Best of Two Worlds
The Vulcan Tanto features a san mai steel, which literally means, "layered steel". This combination contains a very hard VG-10 steel, encased in two softer, more resilient outer layers of 420J2 steel. This allows for a blade with an extremely hard edge, yet the flexibility of softer steel blades. This layering effect can be seen as a "seam" along the grind, just above the blade edge.
The Vulcan Tanto features a pass-through lock-bar and blade kick, which can used to quickly initiate opening of the blade with the press of a finger along the spine of the knife.
